We completed a series of minor improvement works in Lei Yue Mun (LYM) in 2003. We plan to improve the facilities along the LYM waterfront and enhance its connectivity with a view to further enhancing the attractiveness of LYM as a popular tourist attraction. The key features of the design include:
- construction of a public landing facility, a breakwater and a waterfront promenade; and beautification works to the existing viewing platform and five lookout points; and other improvement works along LYM waterfront;
- construction of a new viewing platform; and
- improvement works to an existing LYM Rest Garden and open space.
The funding approval has been endorsed by the Finance Committee, Legislative Council on 10 July 2020. The Project is expected to complete in phases from the second quarter of 2022 to the fourth quarter of 2024.
The government has completed works of Phase I under the Project covering the construction of a new viewing platform and improvement works to leisure facilities of the existing LYM Rest Garden. The facilities are opened in early February 2023 to provide visitors a diversified visiting experience while enjoying the enchanting seaview of the eastern coastal of Victoria Harbour.
