The Ngong Ping Nature Centre (the Centre) situated at Ngong Ping Village in Lantau re-opened in end November 2021 after a collaborative renovation project undertaken by the Tourism Commission (TC) and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD). The newly renovated Centre offers interactive exhibits that feature recommended hiking routes nearby as well as the culture, history, biodiversity and scenic spots of Lantau. It also provides map and hiking pole lending services as well as guided tour services to enrich visitors’ travel experience in Lantau.

In addition, TC, in collaboration with AFCD and the Civil Engineering and Development Department, commissioned improvement works on the hiking trails near the Centre in phases. Such works include improving some sections of the Nei Lak Shan Country Trail and Lantau Trail, enhancing visitor signage, as well as expanding and constructing viewing platforms and sitting-out areas. All relevant works were completed in March 2023.
For detailed information about the Centre, please visit AFCD’s website.
